בעקבות ירושה של סרטי סופר שמונה, יוצאת היוצרת למסע בלשי לגילוי סודות משפחתיים החושפים כיצד עם קום המדינה, בשם ערכים לאומיים וקהילתיים, גברים - אשכנזים ומזרחים כאחד - דרשו לשלוט ולנכס את רחמן וגופן של הנשים. היוצרת מציתה את כאב הדיכוי, וקושרת בין סיפורן של סבותיה בעבר, לסיפורה הכואב שלה בהווה, ובכך שוברת את קשר השתיקה שמהדהד עד היום.
